About Us
We are a family run business based in a village on the southern edge of the Yorkshire/Nottinghamshire border and have always had more than an interest in dogs having competed in obedience, working trials and gundog tests. Consequently, we are more than aware that quality, hardwearing and comfortable beds are a must for the working or pet dog.
Jon has two Border Collies, Tarn and Beck. Tarn lives life to the full - his passion is football (Tarn not Jon) and will cajole anyone foolish enough into being in goal. Once in goal there is no escape! Beck is very young but full of character and Tarn is trying hard to make her play football! Jon also teaches dog obedience and therefore Tarn is very obedient.
Jane has three dogs, two Golden Retrievers, Bria and Rose and a rescue West Highland White named Libby. Bria is an old lady now and has always been hard work but now has the onset of dementure making her even harder work but much loved. Rose is a darling and will do anything to please anyone and Libby. well she's just a typical West Highland White and thinks she rules the roost!
How it all Started
After years of buying dog beds and using old towels, sheets, blankets etc for our own dogs needs we decided to take things into our own hands and produced our first waterproof dog bed duvet. Soon friends and colleagues were literally knocking at our door to purchase and so things grew hence the birth of CLEVER CANINE DOG BEDS! After much discussion we decided to call our beds after lakes in our favourite and wettest part of the UK - The Lake District.
